Following last year's SOLD OUT auction hosted by Fusebox Gallery, Transformer is very pleased to announce that the Third Annual Transformer Silent Auction & Benefit Party will be held November 4, 2006 from 7-10pm at the very spacious Edison Place Gallery at 8th and G Streets NW.

Transformer's Annual Auctions have proven to be one of the most exciting events of the DC fall arts season. This year's auction is shaping up to be the best yet with more than seventy-five of Washington's finest artists participating.

This one-night only event - designed to celebrate and support Transformer and the artists it serves, while raising visibility on the diverse range of contemporary art and artists in Washington, DC - will feature original artworks in a broad range of sizes, mediums, and prices by over 80 emerging and established Washington, D.C. artists (click here for complete list).

With an advanced payment ticket cost of only $75 (through to 10.30.06) that includes a bidding number, delicious hors d'oeuvres provided by several of Washington's most prestigious chefs and restaurants, wine & beer from Buck's Fishing & Camping, and music by DJ Phoenix Crane and DJs Yellow Fever - the Third Annual Transformer Silent Auction & Benefit Party promises to be a wonderful opportunity for collectors and artists, as well as an incredibly fun party.

Proceeds from the Third Annual Transformer Silent Auction & Benefit Party will match recent awards, and go directly toward supporting artists through artist honoraria, exhibition material costs, as well as development and production of a five-year catalogue documenting the remarkable artists Transformer has presented and supported through exhibitions and programs. Auction proceeds will also support artists through the funding of Transformer programs such as The Exercises, a peer-mentorship program for emerging artists, The Framework Panel Series, and Transformer's Professional Development Workshop Series. Look through-out the Transformer website for detailed information on these programs.

The goal for the Third Annual Transformer Silent Auction & Benefit Party is to raise $75,000. Your support will help us to reach this goal and advance our mission of nurturing and furthering the careers of emerging artists!
